A passing thought while I was undergoing training
-----
I want the students of Malaysia to believe in themselves, believe in their dreams, and believe in their passions. I want them to dare to pursue the impossible, dare to see the invisible, hear the inaudible, and do the unthinkable. I hope that in doing so, they achieve greatness – one that has no regrets on his or her deathbed.
Our culture, or at least the people I’ve been exposed to, have long preached the message of “No, that’s impossible, stop wasting your time”. How many Einsteins, Beethovens, Madame Curies, MLKs, or Bill Gateses have we discouraged purely on the notion of impossibility?
I truly believe that this culture, this societal mind set has to change. And I know this change will not come overnight. I might not see the fruits of my battle, but that doesn’t mean I should stop trying.
